How to Manually Backup your Estimating Link Server Database

This guide will show you how to manually create a database backup for Estimating Link connected to an on-premise server.

For users that are connected to an on-premise server database, there may be times you want to manually create a database backup. 

💡Tip: The Estimating Link database gets backed up once a day when the first user logs in for the day.  A manual database backup is needed only between daily backups, when applicable.

🗒️Note: You must have access to the server with administrative rights to perform this action.

Instructions

  1. Connect to your Server
  2. Open the Program EstimatingLinkServerConfigTool
  3. Your database(s) will be displayed in the Server Configuration Tool.
  4. In the bottom right hand corner, click "Backup Database."
  5. The backup file will be saved on the server at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.TCLI\MSSQL\Backup and named similarly to TCLIdb_YYYYMMDD_HHMM.bak.
