Lance R. Ward

Founder & Board Member

Lance is a successful entrepreneur with a sincere passion for civil construction estimating. Lance started his path at The University of Buffalo where he graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He later graduated from Keuka College with a Master’s in Business Administration.

Throughout his construction career, he worked for and owned multiple successful civil construction companies that included NY state DOT utility work. He saw the need for a simple and robust solution for estimating, so he created the solution - Estimating Link.

In 1986, Lance sold the first license of Estimating Link. Realizing that this solution was one that could benefit many, he hung up his hard hat and started The Construction Link, Inc.

In his spare time, Lance enjoys flying his Cirrus, participating on multiple hospital boards, partaking with Shriners, and spending time with his family.

Kathleen Ward Vacanti

President & Chief Executive Officer

Kathleen, daughter of Lance Ward, grew up in the civil construction industry. Some of her favorite memories as a child are riding in the backhoe with Dad and sitting shotgun in her dad's dump truck.

Kathleen graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Business Administration, a Master’s of Business Administration, and a Master’s of Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies.

In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys flying with her dad and spending time with her husband and two boys.

Christopher Denker

Chief Software Architect

Christopher, commonly known as Chris, is a founding member of the team that developed Estimating Link, the flagship software of The Construction Link, Inc.

Originally from near Cincinnati, Ohio, and central Wisconsin, Chris has fond memories of both places and still enjoys visiting them. In the early 1980s, while working for an IBM reseller, he met Lance and was immediately impressed by the bidding software Lance had created to streamline municipal projects. This encounter sparked the beginning of a long-standing professional collaboration.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys traveling, attending car shows and races, and spending time with his girlfriend. 

Kevin Karmann

Senior Developer

Kevin has been developing and managing software projects since 1995. He joined The Construction Link, Inc. in May of 2020 and has been supporting Estimating Link, Billing Link, Field Link, and User Management Link. He looks forward to continuing to lead TCLI's software development team.

Kevin graduated from Shippensburg University with a B.S. in Computer Science.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.

Jennifer Frost

Director of Sales & Service

Jennifer brings extensive construction management and leadership experience to TCLI. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from George Mason University, she began her career with a large home improvement company where she successfully lead a large team of contractors for 11 years. She has also worked as a commercial project manager and business manager for a Florida-based engineering firm.

Jennifer grew up in Virginia where her dad owned a site development company for two decades. She has fond memories of her dad’s business where she visited jobs in her pink hard hat and learned to measure pipe with a digitizer.

Jennifer is a Pickleball Addict! She also loves the beach, Jeeps, and spending time with friends and family. She attributes her success to her supportive and loving husband and two children.
