EL4 Beta Test Frequently Asked Questions
Wondering what's next for EL4? Find answers to common questions and discover how you can influence future development.
Thank you for participating in the EL4 Beta Test Early Access program.
The purpose of Early Access is to give customers an opportunity to explore EL4, provide feedback, and help shape the future of Estimating Link. This article answers some of the most common questions we receive. If you don't see your question listed, we encourage you to submit feedback through EL4 or contact our team directly.
What should I be testing?
We encourage you to use EL4 as part of your normal estimating workflow and compare your experience to Estimating Link Classic.
Helpful areas to evaluate include:
- Project setup
- Building and managing items
- Rate management
- Navigation and usability
- Reporting
- Overall workflow efficiency
The most valuable feedback comes from real-world use. If something feels confusing, takes longer than expected, or prevents you from completing a task, we'd like to hear about it.
We'd like to know: What task were you trying to accomplish when you encountered the issue?
What's missing in EL4?
EL4 is still under active development.
Some features available in Estimating Link Classic have not yet been implemented in EL4. You can review our Upcoming Functionality article for a list of planned features.
However, one of the goals of Early Access is to identify additional needs that may not yet be on our roadmap.
We'd like to know: What functionality is preventing you from using EL4 more often today?
Is this a bug or a feature that hasn't been implemented yet?
Sometimes it can be difficult to tell.
If something doesn't behave the way you expect, we encourage you to report it. Our team will determine whether it's a software defect, planned functionality that hasn't been implemented yet, or an intentional design change.
We'd like to know: What were you trying to accomplish, and what result were you expecting?
How do I report feedback?
Feedback can be submitted directly through EL4 using the Feedback option in the application or by clicking here to access the form directly.
The most helpful feedback includes what you were trying to do, what happened, what you expected to happen, and how important the issue is to your workflow.
Does my feedback actually influence development?
Yes.
Customer feedback is one of the primary factors used to prioritize development during the Early Access phase.
We'd like to know: What is the single most important improvement you would like to see next?
Should I stop using Estimating Link Classic?

We'd like to know: Which tasks still require you to return to Estimating Link Classic?
Is EL4 replacing Estimating Link Classic?
Estimating Link Classic is not going away.
We remain committed to supporting and improving Classic, and we'll continue helping customers succeed on the platform they use today.
EL4 represents the next evolution of Estimating Link and is being developed alongside Classic. Our current focus is ensuring that EL4 meets the needs of our customers before broader adoption is considered.
There is no requirement to move from Classic to EL4 today. As EL4 continues to mature, we'll work closely with customers to determine when—and if—it makes sense for their business to transition.
