Your Guide to the New Web-Based Estimating Link Experience

Thank you for partnering with us as we introduce the next generation of Estimating Link. EL4 is a major evolution of our platform — rebuilt as a true web-based application backed by a modern API. This early access release gives you a first look at the interface, core functionality, and foundation that will support the next decade of enhancements.

Your feedback during this phase is invaluable. By previewing EL4 now, you’re helping shape the final experience for thousands of estimators across heavy civil construction.

Purpose of the Beta Test

The purpose of this early release is to get your feedback. While the current release does not yet include all the features available in Estimating Link Classic, your insights will help us refine and perfect the UI to ensure it meets your needs and expectations. 

What to Expect

We want to be upfront so you know what’s normal at this stage. EL4 is still under active development. Many of the features that you are accustomed to in the previous version are not yet included in the early release. Customer preview access is intended to give you a look at the foundation while we complete the remaining layers of functionality.

New Features

EL4 introduces a modern web-based experience built on our new API framework, delivering improved performance, a cleaner interface, and several powerful enhancements not available in Estimating Link Classic.

Roadmap

Our goal is for EL4 to include every critical feature you rely on in Estimating Link Classic —plus meaningful enhancements. While several Estimating Link Classic features are not yet implemented in the early access release, they are planned and actively in development.

Getting Started

We recommend using Google Chrome and bookmarking this page for easy access during the beta period.
  1. Sign into EL4 here with the credentials provided in your welcome email.
  2. Read and accept the End User Licence Agreement.
  3. Create a new test project or import and existing EL3 project.
  4. Explore the Bid, Item, and Rate modules.
  5. Submit feedback via EL4 Fedback form.

What to Test

While exploring the new UI, please focus on the following areas:

  • Navigation: How easy is it to move around and find what you need?
  • Usability: Are the buttons and menus easy to understand and use?
  • Design: Do you find the look and feel appealing and user-friendly?
  • Functionality: Are the features that are available working as expected?
  • Performance: Is it as fast or faster than Estimating Link Classic?

How to Provide Feedback

We have set up a dedicated feedback channel for this beta test.  To provide feedback:

  1. In EL4, in the top right of the top navigation bar, click the down carrot to the right of your company name.
  2. Select Feedback
  3. Complete the form
  4. Click Submit

Knowledge Link Articles?

At this stage, EL4 does not include Knowledge Link articles. Since the interface is still evolving, we want to better understand how intuitive the system is for existing Estimating Link users before creating formal documentation and training materials.

Following the beta test, we will carefully review all the feedback and make necessary adjustments. Our aim is to launch a polished version that not only meets but exceeds your expectations. We will keep you updated on our progress and any new releases.
